Traditional style meets the 21st century. Lucky 13 is inspired by the early 20th century guitars made famous at the crossroads. Widely adopted by players of the day, these 12th fret instruments were expected to be loud enough to entertain crowds un-amplified, while sustaining the bumps of traveling the curcuit– a task these wooden acoustics were not well suited for. Enter the 21st century and Blackbird’s proprietary hollow-neck, uni-body blends the powerful voice of an ultra-light boutique guitar with the ruggedness of carbon fiber. The striking look and vintage feel of Lucky 13 speaks of a certain familiarity; this vanguard instrument has a deep-roots dating a century ago. It's diminutive size belies tremendous projection and dynamics affording a rare tonal versatilty perfect for both fingerstyle and flat-picking. Carbon fiber is much stronger than wood, humidity proof, but also more acoustically efficient for a big sound, nearly 3/4 guitar perfect for the road.
