This Custom Jazz Model was ordered in 2015 and it has finally arrived! Long wait times aren't easy but it was well worth it. This is one superb guitar! Not only is it an incredibly comfortable guitar to hold, the build and craftsmanship are first class. Light, at 6 lbs, and perfectly balanced sitting or standing, this headless wonder won't tire your shoulders out no matter how long you play. The roasted maple neck's carve is like a warm and comfy '59 LP, perfectly shaped and inviting to play. The woods here are exquisite.
Rick Canton has been designing and building guitars professionally for the better part of a decade, and as a hobbyist and experimentalist since he started playing guitar at age twelve. With a focus on ergonomic design, an artist's sensibility and a musician's ear, the guitars he produces are truly exceptional.
The Jazz is the result of combining traditional elements with an ergonomic focus. Utilizing light-weight woods and an almost fully hollow body, this instrument is highly resonant, lending itself comfortably to the jazz and jazz fusion worlds.
CRAIG'S POVIn 2015 I had some serious neck and shoulder issues which curtailed my practice and playing schedule. Fortunately, I owned a Klein ergonomic electric which became my main guitar until my problem was resolved. It got me thinking, though, about whether there were any builders out in the guitar universe who are making first class boutique-style ergonomic guitars. People I trust, almost without exception, pointed me to Rick Canton, who builds his unique and wonderful creations for the likes of Alan Holdsworth and Tim Miller. Thus began my mission. I wanted to have Mr. Canton build an ergonomic guitar to my specs for CR Guitars. I ordered this Custom Jazz Model in 2015 and it has finally arrived! Like everyone, I hate long wait times but I have to say it was well worth it. This is one superb guitar!

I absolutely love the neck profile here!! Most headless guitars I've played had small necks which I never really understood. The roasted maple beauty's carve is like a warm and comfy '59 LP, perfectly shaped and inviting to play. The woods here are exquisite, all hand selected by Rick and me to dish up a delectable guitar recipe. And the sound, well the sound is rich and full, perfect for the jazz player as well as blues and rock.
I took the hit on this with its 3 year wait time, so you, my esteemed clientele, don't have to. This beauty is finally here and waiting for its new home.
