The set neck combined with those Strat qualities somehow gives the whole instrument a more solid feel - like a more "adult" version of a Strat, if that makes any sense to you. It’s light, ergonomic, and has a really unique nicely contoured body shape with a beautiful nitro tobacco burst applied to a lightweight swamp ash body. The workmanship is just superb, as usual from Collings. Frets, finish, everything.
I am exceedingly pleased to present a brand new model from Collings - the 360 with tremolo. It’s straight from the NAMM show, so you know they’re putting their best together to show off to the music industry. If you’ve read any of my takes on the guitars I’ve got in the shop, you know that I both love Collings, and that I made a living for years playing a Strat. So it’s kind of a no-brainer for me to adore this guitar.
This guitar takes all the things you love about Strats: the wood combinations, that unmistakable jangle and cut, the 25 1/2” scale length; and marries them to a set neck wonder crafted with Collings’ exquisite build qualities.
It sounds amazing.

It has a nicely flamed maple neck and Indian rosewood board. Beyond that, the neck shape has a beautifully executed late '50s Fender feel, a fits-right-into your hand medium to medium large “C” shape. I love it.
The tremolo works beautifully (up and down), and stays in tune really nicely. The workmanship is just superb, as usual from Collings. Frets, finish, everything.
Just a perfect guitar for someone who loves Strats but wants something that adds a more “substantial” feeling you only get on a set neck guitar.

ABOUT COLLINGS GUITARS
Bill Collings moved from Ohio to Texas in the mid 1970’s. Spurred by a lack of interest in medical school, this move enabled him to combine lifelong interests in both guitars and tools into the challenge of stringed instrument building and repair. After a couple of years in Houston, several guitars and a few banjos later, he headed west to southern California. Making it only as far as Austin, where he shared shops with fellow luthiers Tom Ellis and Mike Stevens. From there, he set up his own small shop in a wooden "one car" garage. His reputation for outstanding quality and meticulous attention to detail quickly spread. In 1989, he rented a 1000 square foot space and hired two helpers. Fast forward to present day where Collings craftsmanship is respected by professional and amateur musicians alike…anyone on the quest for quality. Some of these include artists; Keith Richards, Lyle Lovett, Pete Townshend, Emmylou Harris, Andy Summers, David Crosby, Chris Hillman, Joni Mitchell, Don Felder, John Sebastian, Lou Reed, John Fogerty, Tim O'Brien, Pete Huttlinger, Kenny Smith, Brian May, Joan Baez, John Prine, Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap, and Steven Spielberg to name a few. You owe it to yourself to try one.
