This pre-owned CJ beauty is a rare find, crafted in the legendary Collings acoustic tradition. It’s a unique and wonderful instrument. Like a fine wine, age has enhanced all the innate wonders of this stunning maple body 2004 CJ. Put simply, it’s a guitar that can hold its own against the finest bespoke guitars on the market, past or present. This CJ is Bill Collings' example of everything a slope-shouldered dreadnought should be.

Some standouts: Its stunning full-body sunburst beauty, awesomely versatile sound, and superbly comfortable and playable neck. It was very well cared for and shows barely any signs of being played (a few light scuff marks here and there), making it a valuable addition to any collection. To top it off, the sound hole label is signed by Bill Collings himself.

The sound quality of this guitar is truly exceptional. The 25 1/2" scale length combined with the CJ-size body imparts a rich, woody, robust tone. The lows are full of character and power. The highs ring true and clear, adding a pleasing, crisp, and transparent element to the sound. This maple body beauty delivers a punchy present midrange throughout its sonic range. This is one musical acoustic guitar, and I love it.
The fit, finish, and playability are what we have come to expect from the fine folks at Collings. This preowned beauty is simply a righteous guitar, ready to go and ready to be a guitar you’ll hold dear.

ABOUT COLLINGS GUITARS
Bill Collings moved from Ohio to Texas in the mid 1970’s. Spurred by a lack of interest in medical school, this move enabled him to combine lifelong interests in both guitars and tools into the challenge of stringed instrument building and repair. After a couple of years in Houston, several guitars and a few banjos later, he headed west to southern California. Making it only as far as Austin, where he shared shops with fellow luthiers Tom Ellis and Mike Stevens. From there, he set up his own small shop in a wooden "one car" garage. His reputation for outstanding quality and meticulous attention to detail quickly spread. In 1989, he rented a 1000 square foot space and hired two helpers. Fast forward to present day where Collings craftsmanship is respected by professional and amateur musicians alike…anyone on the quest for quality. Some of these include artists; Keith Richards, Lyle Lovett, Pete Townshend, Emmylou Harris, Andy Summers, David Crosby, Chris Hillman, Joni Mitchell, Don Felder, John Sebastian, Lou Reed, John Fogerty, Tim O'Brien, Pete Huttlinger, Kenny Smith, Brian May, Joan Baez, John Prine, Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap, and Steven Spielberg to name a few. You owe it to yourself to try one.
