Collings really nailed it with this one. They got it so right that right out of the box there isn't a single way to make this guitar any better than it is. If you are looking for a laminate jazz guitar ala the ES 175, this guitar should be in the center of your radar. It’s fully hollow with an inviting acoustic sound, in spite of its reduced body depth. In addition, it is an ergonomic joy; you can play this guitar all night long without breaking a sweat or dealing with an aching shoulder.
New for 2015, the Eastside Jazz LC is a sleekly contoured archtop guitar that bridges the gap between Collings' popular Eastside LC and CL Jazz models. With a fully hollow 15" laminate body and a Charlie Christian-style pickup by Jason Lollar, the Eastside LC brings highly refined and balanced jazz tone to the table in a comfortable and ergonomic size.
CRAIG'S POVCollings really nailed it with this one. They got it so right that right out of the box I can’t think of a single way to make this guitar any better than it is. In the looks department this is just a stunning guitar, finished in a rich and seductive vintage blonde nitrocellulose lacquer. And what a sound! Plugged in it is dynamic yet smooth, full of character, in part because of the Lollar Charlie Christian pickup but also because of the well thought out construction and laminate wood recipe. Of course the fit and finish on this Deluxe is stellar as only Collings would have it and it's topped off with one of the nicest feeling '50s neck carves available.
This is a great guitar, one that could be destined to be a classic for the modern jazz or blues guitar player. Thank’s to the folks at Collings for hitting another one out of the park.

ABOUT COLLINGS GUITARS
Bill Collings moved from Ohio to Texas in the mid 1970’s. Spurred by a lack of interest in medical school, this move enabled him to combine lifelong interests in both guitars and tools into the challenge of stringed instrument building and repair. After a couple of years in Houston, several guitars and a few banjos later, he headed west to southern California. Making it only as far as Austin, where he shared shops with fellow luthiers Tom Ellis and Mike Stevens. From there, he set up his own small shop in a wooden "one car" garage. His reputation for outstanding quality and meticulous attention to detail quickly spread. In 1989, he rented a 1000 square foot space and hired two helpers. Fast forward to present day where Collings craftsmanship is respected by professional and amateur musicians alike…anyone on the quest for quality. Some of these include artists; Keith Richards, Lyle Lovett, Pete Townshend, Emmylou Harris, Andy Summers, David Crosby, Chris Hillman, Joni Mitchell, Don Felder, John Sebastian, Lou Reed, John Fogerty, Tim O'Brien, Pete Huttlinger, Kenny Smith, Brian May, Joan Baez, John Prine, Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap, and Steven Spielberg to name a few. You owe it to yourself to try one.
