Preowned 2005
This preowned 2005 OM2HA Baaa is in excellent ++ condition with the only visible wear being fine pick scratches on the pickguard and rosette area, a tiny ding on the lower bout along the binding and a few fine finish scratches on the back and sides. It is rare to find Collings Brazilian rosewood guitars; relatively few were made. Generally they are spectacular guitars. Our current offering being no exception.

It rare that I see Collings Brazilian rosewood guitars; relatively few were made. Generally they are spectacular guitars. Our current offering being no exception. This Om2HA could be in the running for one of the top 10 best Collings acoustics I have ever played. It's sonically rich with a stunning clarity to the notes up and down the neck. The throaty mids and "hint of reverb" that are hallmarks of a fine Brazilian rosewood guitar are all here. The Brazilian itself is absolutely beautiful, just the way I like it, straight grain and old growth with a rich warm color. The top is select Adirondack spruce which traditionally is a perfect match for this type of rosewood. Make no mistake, wood this quality is hard to come by these days, especially at this price.
The playability is excellent. It plays just like it just left the Collings shop. I really love the neck profile here, a perfect modified V that fits perfectly in my hand. All in all, this is just a superb guitar with outstanding woods
In my opinion, for those looking for a great OM this is a true find. Great woods, great playability and great tone; it's all here in this remarkable Collings OM2HA.
If you'd like to find out more about this item, just call or e-mail me. It would be my pleasure to talk to you about it.
ABOUT COLLINGS GUITARS
Bill Collings moved from Ohio to Texas in the mid 1970’s. Spurred by a lack of interest in medical school, this move enabled him to combine lifelong interests in both guitars and tools into the challenge of stringed instrument building and repair. After a couple of years in Houston, several guitars and a few banjos later, he headed west to southern California. Making it only as far as Austin, where he shared shops with fellow luthiers Tom Ellis and Mike Stevens. From there, he set up his own small shop in a wooden "one car" garage. His reputation for outstanding quality and meticulous attention to detail quickly spread. In 1989, he rented a 1000 square foot space and hired two helpers. Fast forward to present day where Collings craftsmanship is respected by professional and amateur musicians alike…anyone on the quest for quality. Some of these include artists; Keith Richards, Lyle Lovett, Pete Townshend, Emmylou Harris, Andy Summers, David Crosby, Chris Hillman, Joni Mitchell, Don Felder, John Sebastian, Lou Reed, John Fogerty, Tim O'Brien, Pete Huttlinger, Kenny Smith, Brian May, Joan Baez, John Prine, Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap, and Steven Spielberg to name a few. You owe it to yourself to try one.
