Fender hardshell
The terrific Lollar Imperial humbuckers boast a tremendous clean sound with a vintage edge to them. Beyond that, this Masterbuilt is seriously playable and capable of a wide range of tones. It could find a home in any style of music be it jazz, rock, blues, fusion. Truthfully, it is hard to imagine any player not being able to find a home for this beauty in their arsenal.
Michael Landau doesn’t really need an introduction; those who know, know and those who don't, don't. For my money Mike is one of the finest guitarists in contemporary music. Not only does he go where Hendrix might have gone, but his tone is so carefully crafted and nuanced that he deserves his legendary status amongst studio players. Most notably, he is a Fender guy. He can squeeze every drop of juice out of those 3 pickups. But when I heard him playing in Steve Gadd's latest band I heard something "more"; a fatter tone, more oomph, more...wow! I took notice. He was playing his new Fender Signature Strat, built by the Custom Shop's incredibly talented Jason Smith. I knew I had to have one for the CR shop. It wasn't easy. They are a limited run, and come complete with a Landau/Smith signed Fender certificate and a few year's lead time. But it's here at CR Guitars and all I can tell you is that it was worth the wait.

Thick and clear tones with plenty of power to push through your pedals or your amp's front end. The volume and tone controls are very responsive and fit perfectly with Landau's very touch sensitive playing. Everything about the guitar is just so dialed in—the custom neck shape, the warm nitro finish, the pearl top Imperials, it's all so perfect and so fine. I really love this guitar and the only issue I see is that I can't get any more of them. This is it. A Strat lover's dream. It's here and ready to roar.
