This was a very special build for the folks at Froggy, using the finest and rarest woods available. The back and sides are old growth 5A chocolatey Brazilian rosewood - really rare and desirable stuff. The top is old growth German spruce with a touch of bear claw harvested in 1876. Simply stunning! The tone is everything you would expect from an acoustic of this high quality. Straight out of a collection, in mint condition, this is Froggy Bottom at the very top of their game.
Born of requests for a grand concert version of Froggy Bottom's popular full-sized K guitar, Froggy Bottom M guitars sing with a balanced voice that has repeatedly been characterized as having great clarity and sparkle. Even when played with great delicacy, the Froggy M speaks clearly and beautifully. Its tight waist and full, rounded lower bout make it a pleasure to have in your lap.
This one is special. A set of old growth 5A Brazilian rosewood - the dark chocolate colored stuff - carefully mated with a German spruce soundboard harvested in 1876! There is nothing 'torrefied' here. No gimmicks. This instrument is the real deal.
The Froggy Bottom Model M is a 14 fret grand concert guitar. This guitar features 25.1" scale length.
The beauty of its woods are nicely set off by the quiet elegance of Glenn Carson's engraved mother of pearl work on the fretboard inlays. The peghead has a Carson-engraved headstock logo inlaid in a beautifully figured Brazilian rosewood peghead overlay and engraved nickel Waverly tuners.
Built with fine old woods of the highest quality, this is finger picker's heaven. By combining the benefits of a modern instrument with vintage woods, you are getting the best of both worlds.
CRAIG'S POVThis is about as nice a Froggy Bottom acoustic as I have ever come across. Honestly, if you are a fingerpicker and looking for a traditional style guitar from a modern builder, this guitar might just be the one for you. The fit and finish along with the Glenn Carson inlay work elevate the rich elegance of this grand concert size guitar to world class status. The tone is everything you would expect from an acoustic of this high quality. Rich, warm, reverb-like notes which resonate beautifully with even a light touch. Simply superb! When Froggy Bottom's Michael Millard sent this Deluxe M to the original buyer, his comment was "this is the best we can do." Straight out of a collection, in mint condition, this is Froggy Bottom at the very top of their game.
