The ultimate semi-hollow T-style instrument with unmatched tone and playability, the Retro Classic Hollow T is a semi-hollow version of the Retro Classic Vintage T and is a complete re-design of the traditional semi-hollow "T"-style guitar, from the body dimensions, contours, balance and routing to the neck design, construction and headstock. The semi-hollow body adds harmonic complexity, richness and acoustic volume with a slightly softer attack. The Retro Classic Hollow T can go from country to jazz to funk to blues to rock with ease. Featuring master-grade, tone-tapped woods, ultra-thin nitro-lacquer finish and handcrafted Grosh pickups.
CRAIG'S POVI have been playing Don Grosh's guitars for about 15 years now. He's not only a fantastic builder, but also a great guy who is really in tune with what a player is striving to get out of a guitar. That being said, one of my all-time favorite "go to guitars" from Don has been his Retro Classic Hollow T. I always have one set up and ready to play in my studio. What Don did here was to take the thinline design concept and make it really work sonically. Plugged in, it is very smooth and even sounding with a bit of compression and what I feel is the perfect amount of midrange scoop. There is a certain amount of acoustic quality that seems to be present under all playing situations which, in turn, gives this model its individuality.
