And build he did! This custom CR Guitars '63 T-Style is absolutely terrific in every way. It's is super lightweight - 5.8 lbs! It's perfectly balanced. You could have this guitar hanging from your shoulder all night and not break a sweat. The tones are righteous — love the Arcane pickups — and lay out pretty much every hing you'd expect from a fine Tele. The chunky C neck shape is dead-on-perfect and it plays with an ease that is hard to find in an actual vintage Tele.

CRAIG'S POV

One of my favorite TV shows growing up was "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet." Kind of weird, right? I mean there was no real adventure in the show, at least not the kind a 10 year would look forward to. But look forward I did. I loved that show for one simple reason, one that every guitar nerd should know. At the end of each episode, if we were lucky, Ricky Nelson would preform one of his songs with his band. And who was his guitarist? None other than the legendary James Burton. And what did he play? None other than a legendary Fender Telecaster. It was blonde. And it had a rosewood fingerboard. That image stuck in my head and my ears, and has always been a favorite of mine. But here is the kicker - they are really hard to find. Especially if you want a '63 - very rare and very expensive on the vintage market.

So here I go again on a quest to bring a realistic representation of one of my favorite guitars. Like I did when I wanted to clone my '56 Strat, I called upon the super talented Mario Martin to build me THAT guitar.

All the hardware is top notch and the fit and finish is right on. It's masterbuilt quality at half the price.

If you are looking for a great T-style guitar that won't break the bank, the result of my quest should be on your radar: Mario Martin's Custom Build for CR Guitars. A big thumbs up from me.

If you'd like to find out more about this item, just call or e-mail me. It would be my pleasure to talk to you about it.

ABOUT MARIO GUITARS
Mario Guitars have been hailed for their superior playability, unmatched resonance and prolonged sustain. Many Mario guitars are the lightest guitars of their style; one of the major woods used is paulownia, which is known for being incredibly lightweight while also maintaining sustain. Mario's custom finishes and relic/aging work have been cited by many to be some of the best in the field. Mario is also proud of the fact that he also builds non-aged / factory-new guitars. Mario Guitars have been reviewed by Premier Guitar, Guitar Player, Guitar World, and have made appearances on stage with some of today's top musical acts. In 2011, country star Hunter Hayes started playing Mario Guitars almost exclusively; Hayes now owns four Mario Guitars, one of which he played in his musical appearance in the 2014 Grammy Awards. The Grammy nominated country duo Brothers Osborne have begun endorsing Mario Martin's talents, playing his T styles guitars with pride.
