One of the finest Parker Fly's to come out of the "Ken Parker era" of Parker Guitars, this near mint-condition, Butternut LTD Fly has all the elements that made the Parker Fly famous - light weight, ultra-fast neck, integrated piezo pickups. Not only is it a great playing and sounding guitar but it comes with the original case and case candy including stereo wire and manual.
The 1998 Fly Butternut Limited Edition #54 is made of the hardwood butternut, from the Eastern U.S., which features light figuring that runs perpendicular to the wide grain. This guitar was built during the Ken Parker era of Parker guitars (the company has since changed hands). Parker guitars have always been characterized by being thin and ultra-lightweight guitars made with a combination of light tonewoods and composite materials for reinforcement. Fingerboards are composite, and use stainless steel frets which typically last the lifetime of the owner. This combination has led to Parker’s well deserved reputation for the fastest neck in the business. Electronics include the integrated use of coil split humbuckers, single coil and piezo pickups with active circuitry, allowing Parkers to have a superb "simulated-acoustic" sound and a wide range of sounds overall. Parker Guitars have been used by the likes of Adrian Belew, Juliette Valduriez, Johnny Clegg, Reeves Gabrels, Vernon Reid, Trent Reznor, Dave Martone, Joni Mitchell, Mark Farner and Paul Simon.
CRAIG'S POVOne of the finest Parker Fly's to come out of the "Ken Parker era" of Parker Guitars, this near mint-condition, Butternut LTD Fly has all the elements that made the Parker Fly famous - light weight, ultra-fast neck, integrated piezo pickups. Not only is it a great playing and sounding guitar but it comes with the original case and case candy including stereo wire and manual. This is as perfect an example as you can find and is hand signed on the side of the headstock by Ken himself. In fact, according to my friend Ken Parker himself Paul Simon liked the Butternut Fly so much back in the day that he purchased two of them. A great guitar made by a genius of a guitar maker, this is what a Parker Fly is all about, courtesy of CR Guitars' hand selection process.
