PRS Special Semi Hollow LTD

The PRS Special Semi-Hollow Limited Edition guitar offers players a versatile hum/single/hum configuration with two PRS 58/15 MT (multi-tap) humbuckers and a PRS Narrowfield middle pickup. The 58/15 MTs offer all the tone of the originals while compensating for volume loss when split to single coils. The Narrowfield pickup delivers the bite of a single coil – without the hum, but with plenty of clarity and punch. Paired with a 5-way blade switch and two mini-toggles that tap the hum- buckers, this guitar can handle myriad sounds and styles, and the semi-hollow body with single f-hole provides a welcome airiness and depth to the guitar's tone.

The foundation of this guitar is very much like a Custom 22 – maple top, mahogany back, 22-fret 25' scale length mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, Phase III tuners, and PRS Gen III patented tremolo.

I'm going to be honest with you. This Limited Edition PRS is just a splendid instrument. I decided that this is exactly the right time to offer this wonderful, no longer available model. This PRS Special might just be my very favorite guitar from Paul's core lineup. Truly. It is the perfect guitar for the player who is looking for extreme versatility coupled with hardcore honest and righteous tones. I wish I had had this guitar in my arsenal when I was a busy studio player. It would have been my go-to instrument for any call I got.  It's that good.

The 58/15 MT pickup tones are everything you would expect from great humbuckers. Add in the Narrowfield single coil middle pickup and you have pretty much a complete sonic palette of juicy electric guitar tones at your beck and call. What's amazing to me is how even the volume is when you switch between pickups. Rock, blues, jazz, metal, country - you name it, terrific tones are just a flick of the switch away. Add in a great neck profile and the wonderful PRS workmanship, and you have a guitar that is damned fun to play as well as being an inspiring, superbly capable, multi task music-making machine.
