Sadowsky LS-13 Broadway

When I opened Sadowsky's LS-13s case, I knew I was in for something special. Roger Sadowsky's reputation in the guitar world is well-established, with an impressive client list to back it up. Face to face with his latest electric guitar build, I was impressed by his take on the S-style design. The flame maple chambered body with its transparent black finish, paired with a maple neck and morado fingerboard, clearly demonstrated high-level craftsmanship and attention to detail.

This guitar resonates with me as a player - from its well-crafted, soulful tones to its inviting playability. At just 6.9 lbs, it's remarkably light. Roger's Broadway LS-13 brings to mind another incredible guitar, the Taku Sakashta Spotlight. Both guitars are unique variations of an S-style electric guitar, where the quality and resonance of the wood rule. Roger's neck profile is wonderfully shaped, with a 12" radius and a 1-5/8" nut width. The fingerboard's edges are comfortably rounded to give the neck a warm, smooth, played-in feel. The H/S/H pickup configuration paired with Sadowsky's proprietary preamp system means the LS-13 model is versatile enough to cover a wide sonic range. It's a strong contender for an all-in-one gigging instrument. It's worth noting that the LS-13 has become the go-to electric guitar for legendary guitarist Lee Ritenour. It's clear that Sadowsky put years of R&D into this guitar, and it shows in every aspect.
