Based on Sadowsky's well-known and loved SS-15 model, the LS15 offers a longer scale (25 1/2"), two PAF style pickups and 16 frets to the body. Like the SS-15 the 1 3/4" body depth makes this a very comfortable archtop to navigate. If you are a Strat or Tele player and want or need to go archtop this is certainly an inspired choice because of the familiar scale length. On the other hand, If you are a Super 400 or L5 player and looking for a smaller guitar with a familiar string tension, this is an inspired choice as well.
The long scale brother to Sadowsky's popular SS-15, the LS-15 features a 25.5" scale length and two pickups for added versatility. The longer scale length provides a higher string tension with a tighter and punchier string response.
Like the LS-17, Sadowsky's long scale instruments should be immediately comfortable to players of the L-5 as well as many other long scale guitars. The thin body provides a more immediate acoustic response than its deeper bodied siblings and has no sonic peer when amplified. Sixteen frets to the body gives maximum access to the upper register.
For the touring guitarist, the LS-15 is a perfect size for overhead airline bins and the 5 ply laminate construction is more roadworthy than solid wood instruments.
CRAIG'S POVIn the over 40 years since I’ve known him as a friend and luthier one of Sadwosky's stellar qualities is how he's been extremely attentive to a guitarist's needs. Put briefly, he listens. He has never rested on his legendary laurels. In fact, he is still driven to make the finest and most impeccable instruments possible. I (and countless others) deeply admire that drive.
All of which brings me to his newest archtop model, the Sadowsky LS-15. Based on his well-known and loved SS-15 model, the LS15 offers a longer scale (25 1/2"), two PAF style pickups and 16 frets to the body.
Like the SS-15 the 1 3/4" body depth makes this a very comfortable archtop to navigate. The more I play this guitar the more I'm impressed with the ground it can cover.
If you are a Strat or Tele player and want or need to go archtop this is certainly an inspired choice because of the familiar scale length. On the other hand, If you are a Super 400 or L5 player and looking for a smaller guitar with a familiar string tension, this is an inspired choice as well.
The LS model has a very different response than the SS. It is more immediate and punchy than the SS and, because of the added bridge pickup, covers a wider sonic territory. Personally I love both models and really respect Roger for giving us, the player, clear options on scale lengths. They're beautiful to look at and wonderful to play. The only question is which one do you prefer? They're both great.

ABOUT SADOWSKY GUITARS
Mention the name Roger Sadowsky to your average guitar player, and you'll likely elicit a "Roger Who?" But that name is spoken in almost reverent tones amongst working musicians. Sadowsky has built this reputation by giving the modern guitarist and bassist what he needs--a no-nonsense, versatile, and reliable electric guitar that performs great and sounds better. Of course, these are claims made by every guitar company in existence; but Sadowsky Guitars is one of the very few companies that can actually back it up. Sadowsky Guitars is based in Long Island City, in Queens New York where founder Roger Sadowsky built the business from the ground up in 1979, after 7 years of guitar luthier training. Today, the Sadowsky company has around 10 employees and caters to guitarists such as; Walter Becker, Jim Hall, Chuck Loeb, Russell Malone, Jimmy Bruno, and Lee Ritenour.
