Roger Sadowsky designed the semi hollow for players who want a small bodied guitar that has the warmth and voice of a hollow body, but is resistant to feedback so you can rip it up with overdrive if you want to. It is a player's dream. And the thing is, you don't give up anything - tone, sonority, or soul - to get all that flexibility.
Roger's Semi-Hollow Recipe: Take one Jimmy Bruno guitar, reduce the body thickness to 1 3/4", deepen the cutaway to provide maximum access to the upper register, make a center block out of spruce and reduce unnecessary mass, add fingerboard of fine South American rosewood, install Tune-o-Matic bridge and stop tailpiece, add two Sadowsky humbuckers and mix with master volume, tone and selector switch, start Cookin!!! When guitar starts smokin', you're done!
CRAIG'S POVI've known Roger Sadowsky for more than a quarter century, and I can say from experience that no one understands the needs of working musicians better than Roger. He has spent his career working with professional musicians, making instruments designed to simply do what musicians need them to do, perfectly. It's no surprise that so many great players play Sadowsky guitars, like Jim Hall, Jimmy Bruno, and Kurt Rosenwinkel. Roger designed the semi hollow for players who want a small bodied guitar that has the warmth and voice of a hollow body, but is resistant to feedback so you can rip it up with overdrive if you want to. I just love this guitar. It is a player's dream--the perfect guitar for someone who wants to have one guitar for many styles of music. And the thing is, you don't give up anything - tone, sonority, or soul - to get all that flexibility.
Roger's neck and fret work, set up and playability have a truly international reputation, and this guitar will add more to his rep. It plays like a dream--fast, balanced, no choking, no dead spots. Every note just rings.
Roger designed and specified every atom of this guitar. The woodwork on this guitar is performed by master craftspeople in Japan, whom Roger personally selects and oversees. I think it's important to point out that the neck is completely hand carved (no C & C machines). The set ups and fret work are all done to Roger's exacting standards in NYC under Roger's supervision. The violin finish is beautiful to look at and will look great on stage too!
But even if you are not out there playing gigs every week, this guitar is just a treat to play. Roger Sadowsky builds guitars for players, and this is a great example of a fantastic guitar that you will fall in love with.

ABOUT SADOWSKY GUITARS
Mention the name Roger Sadowsky to your average guitar player, and you'll likely elicit a "Roger Who?" But that name is spoken in almost reverent tones amongst working musicians. Sadowsky has built this reputation by giving the modern guitarist and bassist what he needs--a no-nonsense, versatile, and reliable electric guitar that performs great and sounds better. Of course, these are claims made by every guitar company in existence; but Sadowsky Guitars is one of the very few companies that can actually back it up. Sadowsky Guitars is based in Long Island City, in Queens New York where founder Roger Sadowsky built the business from the ground up in 1979, after 7 years of guitar luthier training. Today, the Sadowsky company has around 10 employees and caters to guitarists such as; Walter Becker, Jim Hall, Chuck Loeb, Russell Malone, Jimmy Bruno, and Lee Ritenour.
