Tyler Studio Elite Deluxe—Pre-Owned

No longer in production the Studio Elite Deluxe is James Tyler's most elaborate guitar. From the multi layer binding to the impeccable choice of rare woods and electronics this is Tyler at the very top of his game. It’s blessed with a mindblowing  combination of gourment woods: A birdseye maple neck with a chocolaty rich Brazilian rosewood fingerboard.

This guitar has an interesting back story.  Way back in 2008, I talked to Jim Tyler about opening a guitar store and representing his guitars. I wanted to open the shop with a guitar that showed off Jim at his very best so we both decided to have him build a spectacular but rare Studio Elite Deluxe.

It was Jim’s idea to use some special flame maple he had stashed away for a special occasion, and he used it to make me this amazing guitar. After the guitar arrived, however, Jim came up against some well documented health issues and my plan to become a Tyler dealer had to wait until his issues were resolved.

Cut to today. Jim’s health is better, I'm now a proud Tyler dealer, but for particular production reasons, Jim no longer takes orders for this model.

This is the only Tyler Studio Elite Deluxe that I will be able to offer.

I’ll cut to the chase: this guitar is as fine as fine could be.

It’s blessed with a mindblowing  combination of gourment woods: A birdseye maple neck with a chocolaty rich Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. The headstock is a gorgeous blend of birdseye, mahogany, and ebony purfling. There's also the premium flame maple cap, multiple binding and the complete JTO electronic package Tyler is famous for.

Above, beyond and behind all the luxury appointments on this beauty guitar is the sound and feel, which is second to none.

The feel and vibe of this ridiculously elegant neck coupled with the light weight body woods create a sensation that’s like driving a Bentley Continental R on a road with no speed limits.

Originally listing for $7200, this guitar is the real deal from one of the finest builders on the scene today.

ABOUT TYLER GUITARS
James Tyler has had a guitar in his hand almost every day since he first picked one up the summer after seventh grade, in 1964. In college, Jim studied Architecture, Design, Music, Photography and for a couple years, Theology. He paid his way through these years of collage doing guitar repair work at local guitar stores, and as a factory trained auto mechanic for Alfa Romeo, Lancia, BMW and Fiat. Later into the 1970’s, he got connected with the guys at Norman’s Rare Guitars in the San Fernando Valley, and became their main repair and restoration guy. Jim’s abilities continued to expand and soon he had enough experience and reputation that he opened his first repair shop in Reseda, CA in 1980. Since then its been a whirlwind of successes, including being chosen to be displayed among the great California guitar companies such as Fender, Rickenbacker, Mosrite and Charvel in the Museum of California's exhibit The Ultimate Guitar Show and building for artists such as Michael Landau, David Williams, Steve Lukather, Michael Anthony, and Dan Huff. James' design shapes and various ground breaking guitar finishes and most recently his line of pickups have virtually transformed the guitar building industry.
