A Studio Elite wearing an Ultimate Weapon suit. An aggressive design for the nonconformist. Why look like everyone else? The Ultimate Weapon can cover a lot of bases without looking like it. The body shape and contours of the Ulimate Weapon are a testament to Jim's brilliance as a designer. It's edgy and modern but doesn’t forsake any practicality and it’s very ergonomic.

CRAIG'S POVWhen I started putting CR Guitars together there was such a lead time on getting exactly the instruments I wanted from builders I wanted to work with that I actually bought some guitars from other dealers in order to have some cool inventory on hand when I opened the shop. I knew I would take a loss when I sold them, but as long as they were great hand selected guitars I’d own and play myself, I would be cool with that.
This Ultimate weapon is one of those guitars. As I’m a Tyler dealer it still is under warranty and indistinguishable from brand new.
This Tyler is called an Ultimate Weapon. It’s basically a SE Elite dressed up in bad ass clothing. It’s Incredibly versatile and very beast-like.
The tremolo arm has a really wide range because of the cutout of the body below the pivot. All the pickups are wound by Jim. The Alnico 2 magnet single coil pickups give a bright airy and springy sound without any harshness. They are very articulate with good dynamics. At the bridge, the chrome "Super" is an Alnico 5 straight up modern rock and roll decimation machine. Has plenty of top end and gain but also cleans up nicely when you roll off the volume.

I know it might not be for everyone but Jim never intended to it be so . This guitar has a very strong point of view design wise, but pick it up and plug it in, and you’ll discover it has all the wonderful playability of any Tyler guitar.
If you'd like to find out more about this item, just call or e-mail me. It would be my pleasure to talk to you about it.
ABOUT TYLER GUITARS
James Tyler has had a guitar in his hand almost every day since he first picked one up the summer after seventh grade, in 1964. In college, Jim studied Architecture, Design, Music, Photography and for a couple years, Theology. He paid his way through these years of collage doing guitar repair work at local guitar stores, and as a factory trained auto mechanic for Alfa Romeo, Lancia, BMW and Fiat. Later into the 1970’s, he got connected with the guys at Norman’s Rare Guitars in the San Fernando Valley, and became their main repair and restoration guy. Jim’s abilities continued to expand and soon he had enough experience and reputation that he opened his first repair shop in Reseda, CA in 1980. Since then its been a whirlwind of successes, including being chosen to be displayed among the great California guitar companies such as Fender, Rickenbacker, Mosrite and Charvel in the Museum of California's exhibit The Ultimate Guitar Show and building for artists such as Michael Landau, David Williams, Steve Lukather, Michael Anthony, and Dan Huff. James' design shapes and various ground breaking guitar finishes and most recently his line of pickups have virtually transformed the guitar building industry.
