Joseph Yanuziello is building one of the most distinctly original, high quality electric guitars available today.  What Joe has done is focus all his talents into an instrument platform that harkens back to the unique guitars of the '50's and 60's and then, from that, create an astounding stringed instrument that is master built from the ground up. These ultra light hollow instruments are just a complete joy to own and play.

Joseph Yanuziello is building one of the most distinctly original, high quality electric guitars available today.  His level of craftsmanship and his keen eye for design are in league with the great masters of guitar making.  What Joe has done is focus all his talents into an instrument platform that harkens back to the unique guitars of the '50's and 60's and then, from that, create an astounding stringed instrument that is master built from the ground up. CRAIG'S POV

I just can't say enough about Joseph Yanuziello's instruments.  Joe's esthetic sensibility runs very, very deep.  There is something quite indescribable about them - you really need to play one to really absorb the experience.  This guitar came about because I was wondering how small and compact a versatile modern jazz guitar could be.  Knowing that Bill Frisell plays a Yanuziello, it was a no brainer for me to have Joe build this.  The end result came out way beyond my expectations.  The sound is woody and sweetly resonant with a touch of compression.  The neck position pickup can give a wonderful jazz guitar sound.  The bridge humbucker can give you that great unique character of a Duo Jet or old 50's Harmony.  The middle position sound is totally owned by this guitar, clean and clear with a scooped midrange, just wonderful.  This guitar has so much character - a perfect instrument for the likes of Daniel Lanois or Ry Cooder's style of playing.  Besides it's glorious tones, this guitar is just stunning. With its simple design platform, every feature and aspect of it is done perfectly.  From the applied nitro finish to the righteous Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, his skill is all present.  I spent quite a bit of time with Joe talking neck specs on this baby.  We decided to go with the profile of a mid 60's Tele, which is a favorite neck of Joe’s.  Then I decided to give it more of a jazz attitude.   We used a flatter fingerboard radius, a 1 11/16" nut width, and maple instead of mahogany.  The final result is a sweet feeling comfortable C neck with the right amount of girth and taper.  Definitely neck specs that I will use again.  I could just keep going on about how cool this little beast is.  To me Yanuziello should own the term " Modern Vintage Guitar.”

ABOUT YANUZIELLO INSTRUMENTS
It certainly doesn't take a genius to realize that guitar builder Joseph Yanuziello is the real deal. What's "the real deal" you say? When it comes to luthiers, it means someone who has built a meaningful full-time career over a long period of time, developed the craft/art/voodoo of instrument building to the highest level, carved out their own niche in an overcrowded sea of brand names, you know, the real deal! There is something about a Yanuziello that is both plain-and-simple and somehow luxurious at the same time. In fact, Yanuziello's background in design and wood/metal fabrication has served him well in producing what he would describe as "modern vintage instruments." His interest in many musical genres is reflected in the different electric and acoustic instruments he produces. "The challenge is to keep it fresh and new and a continuous learning experience...the players have a lot to do with this." - JY
